I changed back to the normal dartboard todayand hit my 29th 180 this year yay !!..
I think just missing so many 180's on that practise board started to anoy me. Anyway I will change back to the practise board again tomorrow, because i really think it helps one focus better on the target.

Jan de Lange Team Cup Game (180 #28) Tuesday 20 Feb

Well our cup games have begun and not a great start for us with Shaun not being able to play due to his injury.. anyway thanks to Mike for filling in for us.

Savages 2 took us out in the first round I managed to hit a 180 the first one of the season in the first leg however we did not close that leg then we lost the second. Savages 2 made it through only to loose to Savages 1 in the final.
Oh well i think i only got to throw about 9 times on the night and i hit a 180. Drawn Doubles this week i am looking forward to that.

I borrowed Shaun's practise board since he is injured and will be off his feet for a while and i have been practising with that mostly this weekend.

The practise boards trips and doubles are a third of the size of the normal board and i have missed numerous 180 chances on this board... boy oh boy i'm sure this board has to help one really has to focus. Hopefully when i put the normal board back on everything will look big and easy.

Team Practise Match Fields Hill Bulldogs vs Young & Old (180 #26)

Well we had our first team practise match again'st Young and old Team unfortunately Shaun had injured his foot and is still to have an operation on it, he was there but did not play. We had a social player- Mike to fill in for us. Vincent Mike and myself each hit a 180. Vincent and myself both brought in maximum points in doubles and singles, however we lost the single team game.

My last match of the night was a humdinger George played well n the second leg to pulback one a piece (7 tons wer hit in that leg George's 4 to my 3). In the third and final leg i was trailing and George was left on 56 and i was still on 125 turn in hand.. I had to go for the green bull first and that i did.... I hit the red bull, so had to continue on the bulls. i then hit a green bull and red bull.. GAME SET MATCH..

Anyway not often do i close on 125 so thought i would take a quick Photo.

All in all we took the match 14 points to 7 and it was a great nights practise.

Yesterday 22nd 180 not making any excuses but hell it was hot and trying to practise in an oven of a room was not so lekker.Today is much cooler thank God so i will put in alot of practise today that is for sure!

Another practise session at home and hit 3 180's .hope to put in alot of practise in this weekend and alot more attention to 3 dart closes..

Well tonight we played at our new teams venue ... Field's Hill Sports Club ( old Tina's Hotel ) and got to know people... and were suprised as to how many social dart players they had, that have never played league.. anyway we got to play with them since thursday night is here social darts evening.. The dart boards there need to be replaced and some proper hockeys put up and then we are basicaly all set. We played : two team games doubles best of 3 and singles best of 3 .
I closed the last doubles on 144 to win that 2-1 and i played Shaun in singles winning 2 straight and hit a 180 (no.16) for the year all in all i enjoyed the evening, and it was nice to meet some new keen dart players.

Practise at Hillary Club 180 (12)

Played at Hilary club with Kevin and Alvyn on the pub board.
Alvyn was on fire and hit 4 180s in 3 hours practise. In the one leg Alvyn hit a 180 and I managed to reply 2 throws later with a 180, he closed on 64 leaving me still on 113. Kevin also had a fantastic leg and managed to close a game in 13 darts again'st Alvyn..
Anyway we had a good 3 hours practise today.

Been burning the candle at both ends so only put in just over an hours practise tonight.and well i managed to hit one. Well an early night to night yeah 10:30pm is very early for me. Tomorrow morning i will get up early and put in another 45 mins before i go to work.

SA Masters 2006 Phil 'the power' Taylor was there

Phil Taylor played again'st the top 8 SA players in an exhibition match at the SA Masters held at the Emperors Palace in JHB in October last year . I was there and managed to get the autograph of the Greatest Darts Player ever.

World Cup 1999 was held in Durban and i was fortunate enough to be there. So I wanted autographs from the top Dart players and i had nothing for them to sign so i got them to sign my Natal Central Shirt.
I got the Top SA players to sign the front of my shirt; signed my the likes of WYNAND HAVENGA, CHRIS HARDING HILL, FRANCOIS de VILLIERS & ROSHNN SULIVAN.

Queensburgh Darts Hall

This is the Queensburgh Griffen hall, it has 14 permanent boards capable of 18 when needed we also have a smaller hall ajacent to this one capable of 6 boards. As of 2006 we had 2 premier teams 2 B league sides and a couple of C sides. Open Social Darts is held on Thursday Nights at 7:30pm. League, Cup Games and All Natals are also hosted here..

Well I hit another 2 180's to make it 3 for the day and Rob hit one too.

Practised with Rob Kevin and John .. league starts in less than a months time, so some serious practise is whats needed... Practise is not going so good though too many distractions, and our focus is not quite there, but i suppose it is still early and at least we have time to work on it before league starts.

Wynand Havenga gets knocked out in 3rd round in World Championships

DARREN WEBSTER romped into the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship quarter-finals with a 4-2 win over South African Wynand Havenga. The Norwich thrower had only ever appeared twice on television before this tournament, but is now facing the prospect of a clash with Phil Taylor or Chris Mason at the last eight stage and a record pay-day of £12,500. The 38-year-old produced some superb darts in taking six of the first seven legs for a two-set lead. His second set, in particular, was superb, following a 13-darter with two 112 finishes to average 105 for the three legs. Webster also led 2-0 in set three before Havenga took out 95 to respond and the next two legs to pull back the game to 2-1. He then levelled matters with a 13-darter, which included his third 180 of the match, in the final leg of the fourth set. Webster took three legs in a row to win the fifth set without reply and move to within one of the match, before a 14-darter from Havenga gave him the lead in the next. The Emperors Palace South African Masters champion was then punished for missed doubles in the second set, before a 14-darter from Webster put him 2-1 up. Havenga then paid the ultimate price for three missed darts to stay in the contest, with Webster finally landing the killer blow with double ten on his final dart to seal victory. "It's brilliant," said Webster. "I've always believed I could do this but it's about being used to the televised stage. "I can go up about ten or fifteen points in my average and I will need to in the quarter-finals. I will need to play like I did in the second set throughout! "I started lovely and had to try and keep my composure. At 2-0 in the third set I thought I was there and suddenly my hands started sweating. "Wynand got into his game then and wasn't missing much but I knew if I could get to the doubles I would take them." Havenga overcame Steve Maish and Peter Manley in his Circus Tavern debut, and he said: "It's been a great experience for me and I'll be back. "I'll be trying to qualify again next year and this has given me lots of confidence."

Ok its the beginning of the year and Darts league is fast approaching.. so i thought WOW this would be such a good place to Post my 180's for the year as ... i can keep track of when i got them and who i got them again'st...
